Church Life

Everyone is very welcome to join us in any or all of our activities; it would be lovely to see you there.

Praying in Company meets in St Edward's
on Wednesdays 12 midday

This is a weekly informal prayer group with a time of healing prayer followed by tea/coffee and an optional packed lunch; the second Wednesday of the month usually being Communion in Company (please check the weekly pew sheet).

Prayer Diary

This is available in the Church and may be used by everyone to fit in with your own rhythm of prayer.

Prayer requests

If you have any special prayer requests, please send them in to the Parish Office by telephoning 01904 709111 or by e-mail For confidentiality, only a first name is necessary.

For people living alone why not come to St Edward's meeting room on the First Thursday in the month at 2.00pm.  Meet others in the same situation, enjoy a cup of tea together and discuss topical events.  Arrangements can then be made to meet for lunch, or similar, during the month.

The Pastoral Care team meet around 4 times a year to discuss any members who may need a visit because of sickness, loneliness, hospitalisation or just a friendly chat over a cup of coffee.  We have numerous people who undertake this very necessary task.

If the Pastoral care team are not informed when members would welcome a visit this care is not possible, so we always appreciate being given the information particularly in the winter months.

Contact can be made via the church office (01904 709111).

If you, or someone you know, would like to receive Communion at home due to illness etc and are thus unable to get to church – please contact the parish office, Tel. 01904 709111 or Liz Powderley, Tel. 01904 702411, who will arrange for one of the team to come and share a short service with you at home.

Everyone welcome - why not come and join us as a taster perhaps?

We meet 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month, starting at 7.30pm.

We begin with a short Church Service, followed by a meeting at 8.00pm in the Church Extension.

I look forward to meeting you.

Louise Robinson
